Rentovation / Field guide
Trip protection.
Connected to your rentals.
Set up your Bonzah account, see the renter experience, and know what to check before handing over the keys.
Before you start
You’ll need your business and fleet details, an approved Bonzah account after onboarding, and your connected rental payment processor. Bonzah’s review and orientation happen outside Rentovation.
Step 01
Apply from your Rentovation settings
Open Settings → Booking rules → 3rd Party Insurance. Select Apply for a Bonzah account. The application opens on Bonzah’s external application page.
Have your business, owner and fleet information ready, along with the documents requested on the form. Complete the application with your company’s real details when you are ready to apply. Bonzah handles the application directly.
Remember: An application starts Bonzah’s review. It does not activate trip protection.
Step 02
Complete Bonzah’s onboarding
Bonzah reviews your business and confirms the products available for your operation. Complete its required orientation and training before offering protection to renters.
Bonzah supplies the account details you will use in Rentovation. Confirm your account’s billing arrangement with Bonzah during onboarding. Approval timing and eligibility depend on its review.
Remember: Keep the approved account email and password ready. Rentovation does not ask for a separate Bonzah API key.
Step 03
Connect, then turn protection on
Return to Settings → Booking rules → 3rd Party Insurance. Enter your Bonzah account email and Bonzah account password, then select Connect Bonzah. For saved details, use Update & test.
Confirm that the login test succeeds. If you see “Saved, but Bonzah rejected that login,” correct the details and test again. Saved details alone do not prove a working connection.
Select Offer Bonzah trip protection at checkout, then select Save. Connecting the account and saving this checkbox are separate steps.
Remember: Keep credentials inside the settings form. Never include them in a screenshot, video or support message.
Step 04
Preview what your renter sees
Open an eligible vehicle on your storefront and choose a valid trip. After entering driver details, the renter reaches Protection. Available options and their prices come from Bonzah; they can vary by account, state, vehicle, driver and trip.
The renter can select an available option or use their own insurance. Selecting Bonzah protection requires the renter’s address and phone number. The review screen itemizes the selected premium alongside the rental.
For a practice preview, stop before submitting the booking. The video uses example renter details and does not purchase or issue a policy.
Remember: A quote or selected option is not active coverage. Direct questions about coverages, exclusions or claims to Bonzah.
Step 05
Collect payment and verify the policy
The selected premium is collected with the rental payment through your connected payment processor. A booking request may show $0 due now with payment due later; follow your normal booking approval and payment process.
After confirmed collection, Rentovation requests policy issuance from Bonzah. Successful issuance is required. Bonzah sends the renter’s policy documents and inspection links directly.
Before pickup, check the booking’s Trip protection status, then verify the issued order, active policy status and effective dates in the Bonzah Business Portal. The portal is the source of truth. A quote, payment receipt or “attention needed” status is not a substitute.
Bonzah bills your rental company directly under your account terms. Its confirmed arrangement is post-dated and due on receipt; do not assume a fixed two-week payment window. Your processor’s payout schedule is separate, and a refundable security hold is separate from the premium.
Remember: Only rely on coverage after verifying that it is active for the rental dates. Check again for extensions.
Follow the payment
One rental payment. Two responsibilities.
- Your renterPays the rental + selected premium.
- Your payment processorCollects the combined payment for your business.
- BonzahIssues coverage after successful collection and issuance, and bills your company under its account terms.
If something doesn’t look right
I connected my account, but no options appear.
Check the successful login-test result, the Offer Bonzah checkbox and Save. Then preview an eligible vehicle and trip. Review any operating-state warning in Settings. Some products are unavailable for certain states, vehicles, drivers or trips; Bonzah can confirm eligibility.
The details are saved, but the login test failed.
Use the account email and password supplied for your approved Bonzah account, then select Update & test. If Bonzah still rejects the login, contact Bonzah about the account. Send Rentovation support the error message only, with all credentials removed.
The renter paid. Is the policy definitely active?
Payment and policy issuance are separate events. If Trip protection needs attention, resolve that issue and verify the active policy and dates in Bonzah’s Business Portal before relying on coverage or releasing the vehicle.
Does this replace my fleet insurance or Bonzah training?
No. This guide explains setup and navigation in Rentovation. It does not replace your fleet insurance, Bonzah’s required orientation or its policy documents. Bonzah handles product, eligibility and claims questions.
