Car Rental Software Compared: Rentovation vs 1Now vs Fleetwire

Quick answer: All three give an independent rental operator the same core thing: a branded booking site, payments into your own processor account, renter verification, and no marketplace commission. They split on pricing shape and on what happens after the site exists. Fleetwire publishes the lowest prices and caps each plan by vehicle count. 1Now publishes middle pricing, also capped by vehicle count, and sells through a demo. Rentovation is one flat fee with no vehicle cap, and it is the only one of the three whose published feature set includes a marketing engine to fill the calendar. Under roughly 15 vehicles the other two are cheaper. Above roughly 16, the flat fee is the cheapest published price.

We make one of the three products on this page, so read it the way you would read any vendor’s comparison: check the sources. Every competitor fact below was read off that company’s own public pricing or features page on July 21, 2026, and it is cited inline. Where a company does not publish something, this page says so rather than guessing. There are no claims here about how any competitor’s software looks or feels to use, no review scores, and no numbers we cannot point at.

Prices and features move, sometimes weekly. Confirm both on the vendor’s live site before you buy anything.

Rentovation figures come from our own live plan configuration. 1Now figures: 1now.ai pricing page, accessed July 21, 2026. Fleetwire figures: fleetwire.io pricing and features pages, accessed July 21, 2026. Fleetwire also publishes lower rates on annual billing ($24, $69, and $239); Rentovation bills monthly. Feature rows describe what each vendor lists on its own pages, not an assessment of how well any feature works.

What it costs at your fleet size

A pricing model only matters at the size you actually operate, so here is the published month-to-month price for the same fleet across all three. This is the part most comparison pages skip, and it is the part that decides the answer.

Your fleetRentovation Starter1NowFleetwire
3 cars$197$150$34
5 cars$197$150$34
10 cars$197$150$89
15 cars$197$260$89
25 cars$197$260$279
40 cars$197Custom quote$279

Lowest published price in each row is bolded. Built from the vendors’ published month-to-month rates and stated vehicle caps, accessed July 21, 2026. Annual billing and any promotional rate will change these numbers; so will a custom Enterprise quote, which is why the 40-car row leaves 1Now unpriced rather than estimating one.

The crossover sits somewhere around 16 vehicles. Below it, we are the most expensive of the three and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Above it, one flat fee with no cap becomes the cheapest published option, and it stays flat as the fleet keeps growing. That is the whole argument for a flat fee, stated without decoration.

The number that dwarfs all three

Software price is the small decision. The large one is what a marketplace takes. Turo keeps roughly 10% to 40% of each trip depending on the plan you sit on, and the plan that lets you keep the most is the plan that puts the most damage risk on you, up to $2,500 per incident on the 90 plan (help.turo.com, accessed July 20, 2026).

On a five-car fleet turning about $4,000 a month, a 25% cut is roughly $1,000 a month, near $12,000 a year. Every option on this page costs less than that in a year, including ours. The real question is not which of these three has the smallest bill; it is whether you are paying a percentage at all. Run your own numbers on the Turo fees calculator, or read the plan-by-plan breakdown in how much does Turo take.

Where the three actually diverge

Marketplace calendar sync

1Now lists Turo calendar sync, and Fleetwire lists marketplace calendar sync covering Turo and Getaround (vendor pages, accessed July 21, 2026). Both are built so you can keep your marketplace listings live while a direct channel runs beside them. Rentovation does not do this, on purpose. Our product exists to move the booking, and the customer, off the marketplace entirely. That is a philosophy, not a roadmap gap: if a dual-channel setup is what you want, the other two fit that better than we do, and you should pick one of them. We would rather say that here than sell you the wrong tool.

What happens after the booking site exists

This is the row where the three genuinely part ways. Fleetwire’s features page lists trust, storefront, and operations tooling, and no marketing, SEO, content, advertising, or lead-generation feature (fleetwire.io/features, accessed July 21, 2026). 1Now’s pricing page lists no marketing, SEO, or content feature either, though its Plus tier does list customer CRM and re-engagement tools, which is adjacent and worth crediting (1now.ai/pricing, accessed July 21, 2026).

Rentovation’s Starter plan includes a daily auto-SEO blog that publishes local search content under your own brand, and Pro adds AI lead follow-up, AI SEO, and guided Google Business setup, with the ads engine included and still on the way rather than shipped. The reasoning is simple: a booking site nobody can find does not make money, and the operators we work with rarely run out of software. They run out of demand.

If you already have steady demand, that bundle is worth less to you and the cheaper tool is the rational buy. Say that out loud before you compare prices.

Getting your data back out

Owning the customer is the point of going direct, so it is fair to ask how each vendor lets you take that data with you. Fleetwire lists import and export from its middle tier and API plus webhooks at its top tier. 1Now lists API access and custom integrations at Enterprise. Rentovation gives every plan a one-click CSV export of your full customer list from the Customers screen — name, email, phone, address, insurer, verification status, tags and record date — plus CSV exports for fleet performance and marketing attribution. The file re-imports into Rentovation, and its columns open in any spreadsheet or CRM. Two honest limits: it is a manual CSV download, not an API or webhook feed, so nothing syncs on a schedule; and the export deliberately leaves out driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, policy numbers and verification-document links, because we are not going to make it one click to put a spreadsheet of government-ID data on a laptop.

Which one fits which operator

There is no universal winner here, and any page that tells you otherwise is selling. The answer moves with fleet size and with what your actual bottleneck is.

One or two cars

You may not need any of these yet. At that size a marketplace’s built-in demand can be worth more than its cut, and a monthly software fee is hard to justify against a handful of trips. If you want to test a direct storefront cheaply, the lowest published entry price belongs to Fleetwire. Come back when the volume grows, or when the marketplace does something you cannot appeal.

Three to fifteen cars

This is where a direct channel starts to earn its keep, and also the range where we are the most expensive of the three on price. Choose on your bottleneck. Lowest software bill points to Fleetwire. Keeping Turo running alongside direct points to 1Now or Fleetwire. Empty days on the calendar point to us, because that is what the marketing engine is for. If your cars are already booked and you only need a system of record, buy the cheaper one.

Sixteen cars and up

Here the flat fee stops being a compromise and starts being the cheapest published price on this page, and it does not move again as you add cars. At this size the constraint is almost never the booking software; it is keeping a growing fleet occupied and holding on to the customer relationships that make the business worth something if you ever sell it. That is the operator Rentovation is built for. See the full pricing breakdown before you commit.

Where we are weaker

A comparison page written by a vendor is worth nothing unless it can say this part, so here it is without hedging.

We would rather you read that here than discover it later and distrust everything else on the page.

Frequently asked questions

Which car rental software is cheapest?

On published month-to-month price, Fleetwire is the cheapest for small fleets: $34/mo for up to 5 vehicles and $89/mo for up to 15 (fleetwire.io/pricing, accessed July 21, 2026). 1Now publishes $150/mo for up to 10 cars and $260/mo for up to 25 (1now.ai/pricing, accessed July 21, 2026). Rentovation is $197/mo flat with no vehicle cap, so it is the most expensive of the three under roughly 15 vehicles and the cheapest of the three published prices above roughly 16.

How much does 1Now cost?

1Now publishes three tiers on its pricing page: Essential at $150 per month for up to 10 cars, Plus at $260 per month for up to 25 cars, and Enterprise at custom pricing for unlimited fleet size, each with $0 platform fee on direct bookings (1now.ai/pricing, accessed July 21, 2026). No free trial is described on that page and the main call to action is a demo request. Verify current pricing on their site before deciding.

Does Rentovation sync with Turo like 1Now and Fleetwire do?

No, and that is a deliberate product choice rather than a gap. 1Now lists Turo calendar sync and Fleetwire lists marketplace calendar sync for Turo and Getaround on their own pages (accessed July 21, 2026). Rentovation is built to move your bookings off the marketplace and onto a storefront you own, so it does not sync a marketplace calendar. If you want to keep your Turo listings running alongside a direct channel, the other two support that pattern and we do not.

What is the difference between flat-fee and vehicle-tier pricing?

A flat fee stays the same whether you run 3 cars or 30, so the cost per car falls as you grow. Vehicle-tier pricing sets a cap on each plan, so adding one car past a cap moves you to the next tier and a higher bill. Both 1Now and Fleetwire publish tiers with vehicle caps. Rentovation charges one flat monthly fee with no vehicle cap. Neither model is universally better: tiers are cheaper for small fleets, flat is cheaper once the fleet grows past the cap you would otherwise be paying for.

Do all three let me keep 100% of every booking?

All three route bookings into a payment account you connect yourself, so there is no marketplace commission on a direct booking. Rentovation charges $0 per booking, Fleetwire states it charges no transaction fees, and 1Now states $0 platform fee on direct bookings (vendor pages, accessed July 21, 2026). You still pay your payment processor's normal rate, such as Stripe's published card fee, plus your monthly software fee. "Keep 100%" means no marketplace cut, not zero cost of doing business.

Where is Rentovation weaker than 1Now or Fleetwire?

Three places, plainly. Rentovation costs more than both on published price for fleets under roughly 15 vehicles. Rentovation does not sync a marketplace calendar, so a dual-channel operator is better served elsewhere. And Rentovation is a young product with a thin public review footprint, while both of the others have been listed on third-party software directories longer. If a long public track record is your deciding factor, that does not favor us today.

Which software is best for a five-car fleet?

At five cars the software bill favors the tiered vendors, and the honest answer is that the cheapest published option is Fleetwire. The case for Rentovation at that size is not the sticker price, it is whether you need help filling the calendar: our fee includes the marketing engine rather than leaving demand generation to you. If you already have steady demand and only need booking software, buy the cheaper tool. If empty days are your real problem, compare on that instead of on price.
