04 / The flat-fee math

A flat fee is a tool. A percentage is a landlord.

On a marketplace, every car you add is more volume for them to skim 10-30% from. On Rentovation the price is the same at 1 car or 100, so the more you rent, the more the flat fee pays for itself. At 5+ cars the math isn't close: a 20% cut on a $4,000 month is -$800, while Starter stays $197 flat.

Every plan, Pro Founder included, starts with a 14-day free trial with no card needed. On day 14 your account pauses until you add a card; add one and you're billed the plan price, month to month from there. Never add one and you're never billed. No annual contract, no lock-in.

Short answers, before you sign up.

Is there really no per-booking fee?

Yes. On every plan the fee per booking is $0.00. Book $5K or $50K in a month and your Rentovation bill is the same flat price. Your payment processor (Stripe or Square) charges its own card fees directly to you, as it would anywhere.

What happens on day 14?

Your account pauses until you add a card. Add one and you are billed the plan price, $197 for Starter or Pro Founder and $297 for Pro, and your subscription starts. Never add one and you are never billed. After that it is month to month, cancel anytime.

What does "locked while active" mean for Pro Founder?

Your rate stays at $197 for as long as your subscription is active, no matter what the list price of Pro does. If you cancel and your subscription lapses for 30 or more days, the seat is released and returning puts you on the current list price.

Can I switch plans?

Yes, from your billing settings at any time. Plan changes go through Stripe billing so you are never double-charged. If you leave the Pro Founder rate, your seat goes back into the pool and the founding price does not return.

Do I need Pro to set up my Google Business Profile?

No. The guided Google Business Profile setup is in Starter. The AI local SEO engine and the SEO article writer are Pro.

What counts as a founder seat?

A seat is claimed at your first successful charge on day 14, not at signup. There are 20 seats total.
