Turo Alternatives for Hosts With a Small Fleet (2026)

For a host with three or more cars in the US, the Turo alternatives for hosts come down to Turo itself, your own booking site, and a short list of options worth checking before you rely on them. Getaround announced a wind-down of its US marketplace and HyreCar, and Avail stopped its car sharing, so a small fleet's real decision is how to split bookings between Turo and direct.

Which Turo alternatives for hosts still take a fleet in 2026?

Our Turo alternatives pillar for car owners covers the full list for a single car. The table below is the short version for a host with a fleet in the US, with each closure taken from the company's own announcement or a trade report.

In its February 2025 announcement, Getaround said its European business would continue operating in its current European markets. That does not help a fleet parked in Phoenix or Atlanta.

Why does a small fleet outgrow a single marketplace?

One car on one marketplace is a side income. Five cars on one marketplace is a business with a single point of failure, and two risks grow with every car you add.

The first is the platform's share of every trip. According to Turo, a US host keeps 70%, 80% or 90% of the trip price, and the plan with the higher share carries the higher damage responsibility: a maximum of $250, $1,500 or $2,750 per claim, according to Turo. Run your own numbers with the Turo fees calculator before you decide how much volume to keep there.

The second is account risk. If most of your bookings run through one account, a suspension can stop most of your revenue on the same day. Our guide to a deactivated or suspended Turo host account walks through what to do.

What does the direct-booking path need?

Going direct means taking on the jobs the marketplace did for you. A small fleet needs each of these before the first direct booking:

  • A booking site renters can find and book on, under your brand.
  • Payments that land in your own account, with deposit holds on the renter's card.
  • Renter ID checks and insurance document checks before the keys move.
  • A rental agreement the renter signs for each booking.
  • One calendar, so a car booked on Turo cannot be booked again on your site.

The last item is the one hosts underestimate. Two channels with two calendars can produce double bookings. Our comparison of Getaround, Turo and going direct covers how hosts split the work between channels.

Rentovation was built for this split. Every plan includes a branded booking website, e-signed agreements and security deposit holds. Renters pay through the operator's own connected Stripe or Square account, and Rentovation has $0 per-booking fees. Turo Calendar Sync is one-way: you forward Turo's trip emails to a private Rentovation address, each Turo trip blocks those dates for that car, and your storefront refuses overlapping bookings. It never needs your Turo password, and it does not send your direct bookings to Turo.

Ready to run bookings on your own site? Rentovation starts with a 14-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime. See Starter and Pro pricing for the current trial terms.

Should a small fleet leave Turo or run both?

Running both is the lower-risk way to start. Turo is a discovery channel: renters who have never heard of you find your cars there. Your own site is where renters who come to you directly book again.

Keep the two lanes apart. According to Turo's gray market policy, Turo prohibits hosts and guests from requesting, accepting, or making payments outside of Turo, and a violation can void the trip's protection and lead to removal from the platform. Do not move a Turo guest's booking or payment off Turo.

A practical split for a fleet of three to ten cars:

  • Keep every car listed on Turo while your direct bookings build.
  • Put your own site address on your direct agreements and your direct follow-up messages, not on anything a Turo guest receives.
  • Watch which cars fill from direct bookings, and move those first if you later pull cars from Turo.

How do you start winning direct renters?

Start where renters look for a local rental company outside the marketplaces: your own site, search and referrals from renters who booked you directly. Our guide to getting direct bookings without a marketplace covers the web presence, the trust signals and the launch steps.

Common questions

What are the Turo alternatives for hosts with several cars?

In the US, the dependable options are Turo itself and your own booking site, plus a private contract with a local independent rental company. According to Getaround, it announced plans in February 2025 to wind down its US car-share and HyreCar businesses, and according to Coverager, Avail ceased operations in Chicago and Denver in July 2024.

Is Getaround still an option for US hosts?

No. According to Getaround, on February 11, 2025 it announced plans for an orderly wind-down of its US business operations. In the same announcement it said its European business would continue operating.

Should I take my fleet off Turo?

Running both channels is the lower-risk way to start: Turo brings renters who have never heard of you, and your own site takes bookings from renters who come to you directly. Pull a car from Turo only once direct bookings fill it.

Can I invite Turo guests to book with me directly?

Not for a Turo trip. According to Turo's gray market policy, hosts may not request, accept or make payments outside Turo. Keep your site address on direct bookings only.
