Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Rentovation platform, owned and operated by McKit Solutions LTD., an Alberta corporation in Canada (“Rentovation,” “we,” “us”). By checking the box to agree when you create or claim your account, or by using the platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. The service

Rentovation is software that lets independent vehicle-rental operators run direct bookings under their own brand: a hosted storefront, deposit and payment collection through the operator’s own processor, e-signed rental agreements, renter verification, and optional AI-assisted marketing. Rentovation is a software provider; we are not a party to the rental between an operator and a renter, not the renter’s merchant of record, and not an insurer or rental company.

2. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
  • You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate information and keep it current; we may suspend accounts with false or abusive data.

3. Operator responsibilities

As an operator using Rentovation, you are solely responsible for:

  • Your rental business, vehicles, pricing, policies, agreements, and customer relationships.
  • Being the merchant of record for renter payments through your chosen processor, and for any refunds, chargebacks, deposits, and disputes.
  • Complying with all laws that apply to your business (rental, consumer-protection, tax, insurance, privacy, and licensing) in every market you operate in.
  • The accuracy and lawful use of renter information you collect through the platform.
  • Reviewing AI-generated content before you publish or rely on it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law, infringe others’ rights, or use the platform to defraud anyone.
  • Access another tenant’s data, probe or bypass security, or disrupt the service.
  • Abuse rate limits or automate excessive load on the platform or its AI features.
  • Upload malware, or content you do not have the right to use.

5. Fees & billing

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment provider.
  • By starting a paid plan or a free trial that collects a payment method, you authorize us to charge that payment method the plan price, plus any applicable taxes, at the start of each billing period until you cancel. When a free trial ends, the plan renews into a paid billing period automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  • Charges appear on your card or bank statement as “RENTOVATION” or under our legal name, “MCKIT SOLUTIONS”.
  • Rentovation charges a flat subscription and takes no per-booking platform fee; renter payments flow through your own processor, which has its own fees.
  • Promotional or founding-operator pricing applies only as described at sign-up and on our pricing pages.
  • Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable.
  • If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first at support@rentovation.co so we can fix it. If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer instead, we may suspend the account while the dispute is open and will share account and usage records with the payment network to respond. Fees for the period remain owed if the dispute is decided in our favor.

6. AI features

Optional AI features generate suggestions and content using third-party models. Output is provided “as is,” may be inaccurate, and is not professional, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for reviewing and approving any AI output before use.

7. Intellectual property

Rentovation and its software, design, and content are owned by us and our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform while your account is in good standing. You retain ownership of the content and data you put into the platform, and grant us the rights needed to host and operate the service for you.

8. Third-party services

The platform integrates with third parties (payment processors, verification providers, email, AI, and more). Your use of those services is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

9. Disclaimers

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every requirement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rentovation will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the platform in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Rentovation harmless from claims arising out of your rental business, your use of the platform, your content, your renters, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may cancel at any time from your account. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or to protect the platform or others. On termination, your right to use the platform ends; you may request export of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Alberta, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notice to operators. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
