Turo No-Show Policy for Hosts: What You Get Paid (2026)

On Turo, a guest who does not cancel and does not show up within 2 hours of the trip start in the US, Canada or the UK can be reported as a no-show, according to Turo. According to Turo, if the host follows the contact-and-wait steps and reports it within 72 hours, the trip is canceled and the host receives a partial payout instead of the full trip.

What counts as a guest no-show on Turo?

According to Turo, a guest in the US, Canada or the UK fails the trip start when they do not cancel and do not appear within 2 hours of the trip's start time.

A guest can also fail the trip start without being late:

  • They send someone else, even an approved additional driver, to pick up the car.
  • They arrive without a valid driver's license that Turo accepts.
  • They do not upload a driver’s license for confirmation within one hour of the trip start time, and you cannot meet them in person to confirm it.

In each case, according to Turo, the host may cancel the trip and report it as a guest no-show. Do not hand the keys to anyone other than the primary guest while you wait.

What does a host get paid when a Turo guest is a no-show?

The payout depends on how long the trip was booked for, not on how long you waited. The table collects Turo's host rules for a reported no-show.

Booked trip lengthWhat the host receivesSource
2 days or shorterThe host share of 75% of one day's average trip price, according to TuroTuro Help Center
Longer than 2 daysThe host share of 2 days' average trip price, according to TuroTuro Help Center

The host share is the one set by your earnings plan. According to Turo, earnings are calculated based on the protection plan you selected, so check the plan the car was listed on. Our guide to how much Turo takes walks through those plans, and the Turo fees calculator shows the split for your own prices.

How do you report a no-show on Turo, step by step?

Turo pays only when the process is followed, so treat these steps as a checklist.

  1. Message the guest in Turo messaging as soon as they are late. Tell them they are at risk of being reported as a no-show and how long they have left.
  2. Give them at least 15 minutes to reply, then, according to Turo, wait the full 2 hours past the trip start in the US, Canada or the UK.
  3. If they do not reply, or they give an arrival time outside the window and you cannot wait, report the no-show to Turo support.
  4. According to Turo, report it within 72 hours of the scheduled trip start; a later report means no earnings for the trip.
  5. Keep the car unrented until the trip shows as canceled, so a late arrival cannot turn into a dispute.

According to Turo, exceptions to host earnings may apply for flight delays, flight cancellations, vehicle cleanliness issues or other extenuating circumstances, so check the trip before you count on the payout.

Is a late cancellation treated the same as a no-show?

No. A guest who cancels late is a cancellation, not a no-show, and on a refundable trip the host payout is smaller than for a no-show. According to Turo, when a refundable trip is canceled less than 24 hours before the start, a host receives the host share of half of one day's average trip price for trips of 2 days or shorter, and of one full day's average trip price for longer trips. According to Turo, an exception applies to last-minute bookings: when the trip was booked less than 25 hours before the start, cancellation within one hour of booking earns the host nothing. For those bookings, the partial payout applies after that one-hour window.

A non-refundable trip works differently. According to Turo, the host receives full earnings when a non-refundable trip is canceled more than 24 hours after booking, and nothing when it is canceled within 24 hours of booking.

How do no-shows work on your own booking site?

When a renter books on your own site, Turo's rules do not apply. Your rental agreement and your cancellation policy decide what a no-show costs, which means you set the waiting window, the fee and whether a deposit is kept. Write those terms into the agreement every renter signs, and keep them as clear as Turo's: a time limit, what counts as a no-show and what is refunded.

Rentovation puts that policy in front of every renter. Every plan includes e-signed rental agreements on each booking and security deposit holds on the renter's card. Renter ID verification is on every plan, and each ID check uses one prepaid credit. Common questions

How long do I wait before reporting a Turo no-show?

Does a Turo host get paid for a no-show?

Yes, partly. According to Turo, the host receives the host share of 75% of one day's average trip price for trips of 2 days or shorter, the host share of 2 days' average trip price for longer trips, and half of any delivery fee.

What is the deadline to report a Turo no-show?

According to Turo, a host must report a guest no-show within 72 hours of the scheduled trip start time to be eligible for earnings.
